With gratitude and appreciation, the alumni of Kota Kinabalu High School from Class of 1990 return to the school and donate a total of RM16,500 to benefit the students and support their alma mater. This donation will contribute significantly to the physical equipment and facilities of the school. The Class of 1990 graduates and alumni should be praised and admired for their gratitude and love towards their alma mater.
It is reported that these alumni were aware of the lack of desks and chairs for the students due to the continuous increase in number of students year by year. Therefore, the alumni actively organised and promoted the fundraising activities to collect donations and contribute back to their alma mater. Their act of kindness in organising the fundraising activities received positive response from the public. The funds were used for the purchase of new desks and chairs, maintenance and upgrading of facilities and so on in order to provide the teachers and students with a better teaching facility and learning environment.
The Chairman of the Kota Kinabalu High School, Mr. Lim Kiat Kong, was very pleased that the graduates still remembered the teachers’ kindness and repay it to their alma mater despite their fame and fortune in the society. He hoped that the practical actions of giving back to the alma mater by the alumni can inspire other alumnis to give back and support the school’s events and projects. These can also help Kota Kinabalu High School to recreate its glory and achieve improvement from time to time.
